My name is Ashleigh & I specialize in Yin Yoga & SloFlow. My offerings aim to help students unplug and go inward, as a balance to their busy, outwardly focused lives. I’ve been instructing yoga since 2013.
Through clear cues & slow pacing, my classes encourage students to shift their focus from the quick-paced outer world to the rich soil of their inner world. My classes encourage a consistent practice of self-awareness, and are open to all levels.
My offerings are heavily inspired by the ever-changing natural world around us. I find that through a recognition of the season’s qualities, we’re able to see how those same qualities are mirrored within our own lives - and to feel more supported and connected as a result. And, that our “seasons of life” are just that - seasons. Yoga has taught me the power of stepping back and enjoying the unfolding process rather than getting swept away with each storm.
I prioritize intelligent sequencing, proper alignment, modifications for every-body, and helping students bring more awareness to their often forgotten inner worlds. As a lover of poetry and beautiful vocabulary, use of imagery and nature-centric metaphors as well as inspiring quotes, are a mainstay in my classes. I believe strongly in each of our abilities to self-heal through self-awareness and self-acceptance.
I completed my initial 200hr YTT in 2012 in Fayetteville, AR. Since then, I’ve continued to prioritize continued education including attending dozens of specialized workshops, 90+ CE hours with Tias & Surya Little of Prajna Yoga and 30+ CE hours with Caitlin Rose Kenney. Additional training and my personal practice has also been informed by Natalie Rousseau, Sarah Powers, Elena Brower, and more. I continue to prioritize continued education, especially in regards to Yin Yoga & its deep ties to Traditional Chinese Medicine.
In addition to teaching 12 years of regular in-person group classes, I’ve also:
helped facilitate five different yoga teacher trainings (Yin Yoga portion for the 200-hr YTT with Trailside Yoga School)
led regular, in-depth seasonal workshops woven with an understanding of Traditional Chinese Medicine
coordinated, designed, and co-hosted two weekend yoga retreats
coordinated, designed, and hosted corporate yoga retreats
taught at several private corporate retreats
taught at various yoga festivals including Yoga on the Mountain - Snowmass, Yoga on the Mountain - Mt. Magazine, and Fayetteville Yoga Festival
taught curated private-individual and private-group lessons
led adventure yoga classes (hike + yoga experiences)
taught a wide array of community offerings including yoga for runners & yoga for bicyclists
Teaching yoga is one of my greatest sources joy. In addition to teaching, I also source joy from work as an interior designer, trail running, being deep in the mountains, adventuring with my two large doodles & partner, and reading poetry and other though-provoking literature. I currently reside in Fayetteville, AR.
You can practice with me in person at Trailside Yoga in Fayetteville, AR and online here. Additionally, I offer regular seasonal workshops that utilize yin yoga & an understanding of Traditional Chinese Medicine to help students align with the qualities of the new season.
